Itinerary

On arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, where Professional Trekking Guide staff receives with warm welcome and then transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu.

On checking your rooms getting refreshed then join in at hotel foyer / lobby meeting with other members of the trek, where our guide will brief you with information on Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking.

Morning drive takes you to high areas straight north around Central Himalaya within Langtang Himal at Rasuwa district, drive leads through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Dhunche a major town and headquarter of Rasuwa district, where Langtang National Park entrance located, our ride continues further downhill on zig-zag winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village for first overnight within Langtang Himal.

Enjoying first night around mountainous and high hills, morning walk starts from Syabrubesi village to reach lovely village of Gatlang heading past Goljung, as route leads past Tamang farm villages facing views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung peaks.

Walk heads with gradual ups to reach at large Tamang village in Gatlang for overnight stop, greeted with traditional welcome receives you with Khada, a religious silk scarf and then transfer you to local home-stay for overnight, with time to visit around the villages and interact with the locals.

Gatlang, located on mid green hill with nice tended terraced farm field where houses are built with stone work an authentic traditional architecture of Tibetan style, visit its local old monastery and beautiful Parvati-Kunda Lake at Gatlang, evening with cultural show of Goljung and Gatlang makes your stay in this village very special.

Morning starts with short descent to a place called Thangbuchet, with views of Langtang peaks and Ganesh Himal includes glimpse of Tibetan Mountains in the north, walk past small farm villages and into alpine woodland to reach at Tatopani for overnight stop.

Afternoon visit hot springs ‘Tatopani’ means hot water rising from the fresh spring with time for short walk around villages.

Tatopani means 'hot water’; where dip in natural spring cures pain and aches and relaxes your tired muscles, afternoon explore and experience Tamang culture interacting with friendly locals.

Morning walk from Tatopani to Thuman with climb on top high Nagthali and Bimthang as route leads into alpine forest, with chances of seeing some wild-life like monkey and deer or rare endangered Red Panda.

On reaching Nagthali super views of Langtang Himal with Ganesh Himal, Nagthali in early days’ time a popular meditation center of local monks and priests, from here another hour walks to reach Thuman, with time to immerse within village farm life and observe Shamanic ancient rite performances.

After Thuman walk leads to another nice village of Briddim on route visit nearby historical Rasuwa-Gadi the border of Nepal / Tibet, China with an old fort. A historical remains of Nepal and Tibet trade and cultural relations that existed for many centuries till present, as walk today takes you to nice area with views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal.

Walk on winding path with climb to a ridge with views of dramatic landscapes then into rhododendron, pines and oaks forest, then climb with short descend to Briddim for overnight stop, Briddim village similar to Tibetan traditions located on ancient trade route of Nepal and Tibet here enjoy folk and cultural show performed by local village community.

Last day of scenic trekking as morning trail takes you back at Syabrubesi for drive to Kathmandu, as walk leads downhill past farm field within nice well tended terraces then reaching at Syabrubesi for last overnight stop within Rasuwa district and Langtang Himal.

Morning depart from lovely areas of Langtang Himal for exciting drive to reach back at Kathmandu where ride follows on same interesting road to Kathmandu and then back at your hotels with afternoon free to enjoy personal and individual activities and shopping.

Like all Nepal Himalayan areas almost the same on this scenic and cultural treks where one can join in for Tamang Heritage Trail from March to May with September to early December months of the year, except wet monsoon months of mid June to mid September when days are cloudy that obstructs views of mountains.

Best time from March to May when day are clear for views and pleasant walks with mild and temperatures, with longer sunlight hours season for wild flowers in bloom, especially rhododendron of various species from trees to bush of different colored flowers (national flower of Nepal the rhododendron), March to May late afternoon can get cloudy with chances of rain and snow in higher altitude.

September to December around autumn /fall and pre winter best times with clear blue sky and sunny days (for short while from morning to mid day) can be cold and freezing during morning and night times above 1,800 m high.

Sunlight hours are short during autumn and winter seasons but most of the morning till late afternoon are clear for views and pleasant walks.
