Itinerary

Pharping

The tour kicks off with a scenic 1-hour drive to Pharphing. Please ensure you’re ready by 10 a.m., as our team will pick you up from your hotel. Pharphing, a charming Newari town on the outskirts of Kathmandu, is an ideal destination for weekend getaways and adventures. We’ll commence with a brief excursion to Asura Cave, a sacred site revered by followers of Guru Rinpoche. Additionally, we’ll explore the Vajra Yogini temple, the Gorakhnath temple, and the Shesnarayan temple, each holding its own cultural and spiritual significance. This promises to be an enlightening start to our cultural exploration.

Dakshinkali Temple

After a refreshing lunch break, our next stop will be the Dakshinkali temple. Dedicated to the formidable goddess Kali, this Hindu temple holds great religious significance. Here, Hindu devotees partake in a unique ritual, offering animals such as chickens, goats, and sheep to the goddess, aiming to appease her bloodlust. This sacred site also doubles as a favored hiking destination in close proximity to Pharping village, adding an adventurous touch to our cultural exploration.

Taudaha Lake

En route to Kathmandu, we’ll make a stop at the picturesque Taudaha Lake, often referred to as “The Lake of Snakes.” According to local beliefs, this serene lake is considered the dwelling place of Nagas, mythical serpent-like beings. Additionally, Taudaha is a significant hub for birdwatching enthusiasts, offering opportunities to spot various migratory bird species. If luck is on our side, we might catch a glimpse of these winged visitors, adding an extra layer of natural beauty to our cultural journey.

Chobhar

To conclude our enriching day tour, we will venture to Chobhar. Here, we will delve into the fascinating Chobhar Gorge and have the opportunity to explore the Chobhar caves, recognized as one of the largest caves in Asia.
