In the Kathmandu Valley, a multitude of Buddhist pilgrimage sites await exploration, and today’s destination is Namo Buddha. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ll gear up for a brief hike. The journey kicks off from the heart of Kathmandu with a drive to Khopasi along the Arniko Highway. From there, you’ll embark on your day’s hike, passing through various villages along dirt roads and agricultural fields.

As you progress, you’ll encounter a mix of modern houses alongside locals cooking in traditional huts and stone houses. Namo Buddha sits at a significant altitude, requiring a climb up a set of stairs to reach the monastery. This sacred site holds immense importance as it’s believed that Lord Buddha visited here after attaining enlightenment and even sacrificed his life in a prior incarnation.

Upon reaching the monastery, a refreshing breeze and a panoramic view of the city below will greet you. Amidst the serene ambiance, you’ll catch the faint echoes of prayers and hymns. Take the opportunity to explore the various sections of the monastery, including the statue of Buddha and the intricately adorned wall paintings.
