Like all Nepal Himalayan areas which is almost the same for Langtang Valley and Gosainkund trekking from March to May with September to early December months of the year, except wet monsoon months of mid June to mid September when days are cloudy that obstructs views of mountains.
But very green with lush vegetations (not recommended during monsoon wet months unless for botanical people to study flora and fauna)
Best time from March to May when most of day is clear for views and pleasant walks with moderate temperatures, with longer sunlight hours where wild flowers are in blooming times, especially rhododendron of various species from trees to bush of different colored flowers (national flower of Nepal the rhododendron), March to May late afternoon can get cloudy with chances of rain and snow in higher altitude.
September to December around autumn /fall and pre winter best times with clear blue sky and sunny days (for short while from morning to mid day) can be cold and freezing during morning and night times above 1,800 m high.
Sunlight hours are short during autumn and winter seasons but most of the morning till late afternoon are clear for views and pleasant walks.
High Langtang Valley and around Gosainkund area populated by Tamang people with some Hyalmo and Sherpa ethnic hill tribes of Northern Central and Langtang Himalaya follows Buddhism religion similar culture as Tibetans with colorful impressive custom and traditions.

Morning drive takes you to high areas straight north around Central Himalaya within Langtang Himal at Rasuwa district, drive leads through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Dhunche a major town and headquarter of Rasuwa district, where Langtang National Park entrance located, our ride continues further downhill on zig-zag winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village for first overnight within Langtang Himal.
Enjoying first night around mountainous and high hills, morning walk starts to cross a bridge over Bhote Kosi River that flows from Langtang Himal and Tibet and then climb to a ridge heading past farm villages and into a serene cool forest to reach at Lama Hotel.
Lama Hotel located within midst of alpine woodland in a small clearing, where a native named Lama first established a small Tea-House and lodge for trekkers and trekking staff, since then the name intact till present.
Morning from tranquil forest surrounding walk leads up into dense forest of rhododendron, pines with some bamboo stalks, which makes a perfect habitat for rare endangered Red Panda and other wild-life often spotted on walks.
As walk progress walking by the raging Langtang Khola (stream) to reach a nice place at Ghode Tabela (means horse stable, where in early days horses known as Tibetan ponies grazed around).
Here with refreshing break and then follow the route into forest for some hours to reach at a large clearing where Langtang village located, used to be much bigger, before 2015 huge earthquake shook this place and other parts of the country.
At Langtang village for overnight stop where some houses are still under construction to serve as lodge.
Today walk leads to our main goal and highlight at Kyanjin, a large settlement located within scenic Langtang Valley enclosed by series of high peaks of Langtang Himal range.
From Langtang village after exploring Tamang people interesting culture and traditional farm life with Buddhism religion, walk leads to short hour with climb to enter into a vast valley of Langtang where Kyanjin settlement situated.
At Kyanjin enjoy incredible views of high snow capped peaks and explore its nice scenic surroundings, the valley of Langtang also a grazing fields for Yaks and other cattle’s.
A rest and free day to enjoy extra walks and hike to top Kyanjin Ri or Tshergo-Ri at an altitude above 4,773 m to 4,984 m high, the highest point of the adventure with grand panorama of Langtang Himal with peaks of Tibet just across the border beyond Langtang mountains.
Enjoying marvelous time around Langtang valley in the comfort of nice local lodge, where morning walk takes downhill back into dense tree lines to reach at Lama Hotel for overnight stop.
Morning walk leads on same route for few hours to reach a small place at River Side within bamboo shades, after a short rest with steep climb to reach Thulo Syabru, a village with row of houses placed on a ridge top.
Here with time to explore Tamang authentic village with an interesting monastery located on top of the village.
From Thulo Syabru village climb past farm fields and smaller hamlets with little villages, where walk leads into cool alpine forest covered with rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir tree lines, as walk head past cattle herders shelters and grazing land.
Walk continues with climb, then on nice gradual path to Chandanbari or Sing Gompa (a place with sandal wood trees), at Sing Gompa check into a nice lodge, afternoon visit its small cheese factory and old monastery situated on top of the village.
With lovely overnight stop at Sing Gompa or Chandanbari a nice and small village, where morning walk leads you with excellent views of Langtang and Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu as far towards Annapurna in the far west, as walk head higher up for an hour within rhododendron forest.
Walking on leaving green forested area with climb past few Tea-Houses at a small place Laurabinaya, and then short descend to reach first pond of Saraswati and Bhairabkund with last up to Gosainkund near its calm holy pond overnight stop in a nice lodge at the shore of a pond.
Gosainkund regarded as sacred spot where great religious festival held once a year called Janai Purnima (Full Moon) in the month of August, great numbers of Hindu and Buddhists pilgrims throng the lake for a holy bathe, as per Hindu popular belief, a huge rock at the center of the pond at one time had Shiva temple.
After a great enjoyable time around holy pond of Gosainkund, morning climb leads between rocks and boulders, heading past smaller ponds as path winds up to the top of Gosainkund pass or Laurabinaya La, the highest spot of the adventure.
From the top long descend to Phedi (bottom) a place with few small teahouses, after a refreshing break walk continues towards east around close to Helambu area and back into green vegetations with tall tree lines to reach at Ghopte for overnight stop (means overhanging rocks).
Morning walk leads to where trail from Helambu and Kathmandu joins, from here pleasant walk into forest with some ups and down for an hour and climb on top Thadepatti Hill facing views of high mountain range.
After a refreshing rest walk downhill back into farm fields to reach overnight stop at Kutumsang, an interesting farm village with mixed hill tribes of Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang people.
Morning walk leads to scenic hill of Chisapani, as journey gets closer towards Kathmandu valley walking on winding path with short ups and down through farm villages reaching at Gul-Bhanjyang.
After refreshing stops walk continues on nice and pleasant trail to reach at Pati Bhanjyang village, from here with short steep climb to reach last overnight stop at Chisapani.
A scenic and beautiful place where you can have excellent views of sunrise and sunset over array of peaks from Jugal Himal range in the north with Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range in the far west direction.
Last day walk of the adventure, after catching stunning sunrise views over array of mountain range, as route leads within cool shade of forest and farmlands with views of Kathmandu valley with long descend to reach at a road head at Sundarijal, a beautiful place within forest and streams.
On reaching at Sundarijal a small farm town and then short drive takes you back at Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great experience on Langtang valley and Gosainkund Trekking, as drive leads past great Stupa of Bouddhanath to reach your hotel in Kathmandu, afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities and shopping.
